Handmade Holidays - DIY Stamped Christmas Gift Wrap
Traditional wrapping paper bugs me. It makes me cringe when beautifully wrapped packages turn into non-recyclable waste. SO today I’m dreaming up more earth-friendly wrapping ideas for the blog.
Here’s how I made gift wrap that:
doesn’t create unnecessary waste
don’t break the bank
can be made at the last minute
will make the recipient squeal with delight (#handmadeholidaygoals)
Supplies I used*:
One Sweet Holiday Stamp - I used the 2” size
Kraft Paper - it’s earth-friendly & one roll will last you basically forever
A Quick-Drying Ink Pad - ain’t nobody got time for slow-drying ink
Gift Tags - Fish out those cute bags, tags & stickers, you know they’re in your craft room somewhere.
Yarn, ribbon, twine, embroidery thread…. any kind of string!
Stickers - I like to use large ones — a little wider & a lot taller than my stamp.
How To Make:
Stamp your kraft paper - A 2” x 2” stamp is a versatile size for packaging small items like jewelry, soap, small pottery, etc. Just stamp all over and you’re done.
Stamp your stickers: Align the stamp toward the bottom of the sticker label, printing so that there is a good margin of white space above it.
Stick em on: Just drape the white space of the sticker onto the back of your packaging and BOOM. You’re done. Send your happy mail on its way!
Extra Tips:
Don’t try to make it perfect.
Perfect is boring! And imperfect says, “I printed this beautiful gift wrap all on my own and didn’t even hurt a tree.”Stamp em close together for small packages, farther apart for larger ones.
Don’t overdo it - even a single stamp that you center on the box looks sweet and handmade.Try some different styles:
Stamp a bunch in a line.
Stamp them in squares with blank squares like plaid.
Stamp one long section so that only half of your package will be stamped, and tie a bow along the other side.
That’s it! I’m already dreaming up a gazillion more possibilities for this one stamp, and with an entire giant roll of kraft paper, the sky is the limit y’all.
Happy stamping, friends!!!
