How to Make Custom (Waterproof) Tyvek Wrap
Featuring Product Packaging from Red Tile Studio
Pretty Packaging Series #7
Hi + welcome to the 7th segment of a 9-part series of something I am SUPER passionate about: Branding & Packaging!
As I've said before: When it comes to small creative business branding, simplicity is best!
Simplicity helps make your branding identity memorable, makes customers feel extra special with their happy mail + keeps them coming back to you for more.
My mission: to create beautiful packaging ideas to inspire you in your creative business, and to send off your products in a way that will make your brand shine bright & really wow your clients.
So let's get off to the races with project #7: Custom (Waterproof) Tyvek Wrap!
Project #7: Custom (Waterproof!) Tyvek Wrap
(with a little help from my friends at Red Tile Studio)
Supplies*:
Note: Tyvek is an investment for sure, but I made these specifically for artwork that needs to be protected from the elements (like the beautiful work that Red Tile makes!!). Tyvek is a waterproof and super strong material, often used to preserve artwork by custom framers.

I said these projects would be simple and I promise they are truly simple. Here are the steps, if you haven't already guessed them.
HOW TO MAKE:
Roll out your Tyvek, measure + cut to the right wrap size for your box.
Stamp all over your wrap - space em wide or close together, have fun with it!
Don't worry about getting it perfect - perfect will look boring!Cut a piece of scrap Tyvek into a house-shaped tag (again, perfection discouraged!) and stamp your logo onto that too.
Grab your box full of goods & wrap it up.
Wrap your twine around, tie a bow & add your tag.
That's it! Your packaging is protected & ready to go out and represent your brand!
Some Extra Notes for you, Lover of All Things Inky:
If you don't need the extra protection, make the same wrap with newsprint, try some black or colored kraft paper with white ink-- or else try tissue paper like this project here ;)
Because Tyvek is super indestructible (you can't tear it, I dare you to try!), you can also sew it with a machine! Stamp up your Tyvek and stitch little pockets to slip your work inside of.
I've ended up using this stuff SO MANY TIMES since I got myself a roll. Some other things I made:
A stamped, SUPER durable banner and tablecloth for my shows (when I realized I had nothing at the last minute and it was going to rain on me!)
Stamping my logo for backing my embroidery hoops when I've run out of felt
